Ahammed Khabeer confirms Season 2 of Kerala Crime Files

Director Ahammed Khabeer, who is basking in the success of Kerala Crime Files, has already confirmed the second season of the Malayalam web series, which is currently streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.

In an interview with indianexpress.com, Ahammed said, “Without a doubt, there will be a second season for Kerala Crime Files. However, the current story will conclude with Season 1, and the subsequent season will not continue from where it left off. We are presently engaged in discussions for a potential follow-up season, and I already have a small story idea, which needs to be developed further. Once I get a comprehensive idea, we will proceed further and the next installment of Kerala Crime Files will likely arrive next year.”

Kerala Crime Files revolves around the investigation by the local police into the murder of a sex worker in a lodge in Kochi. The web series stars Aju Varghese, Lal, Zhinz Shan, Navas Vallikkunnu, Sanju Sanichen and Devaki Rajendran among others.

Kerala Crime Files opened to positive reviews from critics and the audience alike. A part of Malayalamotts.com’s review of the web series read, “A lot of expectations were riding on Kerala Crime Files as it was the first big series from the Malayalam entertainment industry. And I am happy to report that Kerala Crime Files delivers. It is a taut, engaging and well-made police procedural.”
