Neymar OTT: Malayalam film Neymar is all set to release on a streaming platform. The Sudhi Maddison directorial, starring Mathew Thomas, Naslen K Gafoor, Johny Antony, Shammi Thilakan, Vijayaraghavan and Yog Japee, will start streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from August 8.
The film is about how a dog named Neymar changes the life of Kunjava and his friend Sinto. It opened on May 12, 2023 to mixed reviews. While some critics said the movie is “an insipid watch” and “a squandered opportunity”, others remarked that it is a decent family entertainer.

Neymar was Mathew Thomas and Naslen K Gafoor’s third film together after Thanneer Mathan Dinangal (2019) and Jo and Jo (2022). Their fourth collaboration, 18+, hit screens on July 7.
Talking about Mathew and Naslen, Sudhi Maddison had told Onmanorama, “Since the scripting process of Neymar, I had been in contact with Mathew. Our discussions started right after the completion of Operation Java. We also wanted Naslen to be a part of this movie. They (Naslen & Mathew) are a valuable combination. Neymar is their third film together. Although many other directors may have approached them with scripts in the past, those attempts may not have been successful. Therefore, it was crucial for us to approach them with a well-crafted script. Once we were ready, we reached out to them, and they both agreed to be a part of the project.”
